We stay here occasionally if Weldon Springs is full. The older areas have more trees. The newer loops have small newly planted trees are it has more of a prairie grass field feel to them. The bath houses with flush toilets are clean and pretty new by IL State Park standards. However, they are often quite a distance from your campsite. Therefore stuck wtih pit toilets or your Pop Up's porta potti. There is a small sand beach in the park and there is ample boating/fishing opportunity. Otherwise, I'd recommend Weldon Springs as being more scenic.

The newer sites are located closer to the entrance and are more sparse related to the trees. They are however, larger. The older sections are smaller sites (had a hard time w/23 ft. TT). There are abundant trees in these sections. Bath facilities are spotless. I scored low on the attractions as there is NOTHING to do in De Witt, IL. But, if you are a sportsman or boater, Clinton Lake is a great time!
