The refrigerator wouldn't light correctly, and the propane gas alarm went off.  We shut off the gas and searched for the problem.  Later, we noticed the problem was the outside stove connection was done in haste and was not secured correctly.

Here the knurled knob is not pulled out all the way.  This will leak gas, create an explosion hazard, and lose pressure needed to run appliances

Here the knurled knob is ALSO not pulled out all the way, although in this photo, it is less apparent and therefore more dangerous.

Finally in this photo the knurled knob is pulled out fully providing a tight seal needed for safety and so all appliances have pressure needed.  Check this area if you ever lack pressure, or have your propane alarm go off and can't figure out why it went off!

My old PUP has 2 conecters like that. Both have valves next to them, if not hooked up right, you should be right there when it starts leaking. The knurled knob is spring-loaded, won't stay back, maybe you need clean/lube the ring and the balls...

Thanks for the tip.  I'll spray some silicone lubricant on it to see if that helps.

I was having some problems with the same connectors on my PUP.  So, I cleaned the connectors and sprayed some silicone on them.  Now they come together cleanly with a positive "click" as the knurled ring snaps forward.

Interesting that they use a connection like that without using the safetly lever which ensures the collar has been locked down fully.  Seems dangerous.

Our Starcraft uses 2 of these (made by MBSturgis....   www.mbsturgis.com) and both have the locking lever.  Mine are both for the stove's connection inside and outside the camper.  My LP hose from the tank is hard connected right to the camper.
