Alumtite roof rails suggestions on how to cover .

So , i was thinkin , what if i could slip something into my factory roof rails to effectively cover the screws and perhaps deter water from sitting in the tracks ? Anyone think of something , vinyl , metal , whatever that i could use to cap off the rails ? I would then dremel out a channel on each end of the factory caps ( the small caps on each end of the rails) to allow any water to drain away off these rail covers . Ideas ? Thanks

I will give my wife credit for this one......I took 1 1/2 PVC pipe and ripped it down the middle with my table saw, effectively making two half circles. They slide perfectly onto the rails. My Sun Ridge is a bit longer than 10 ft. so I used a coupler and used PVC glue to make mine about 13 ft. When we travel I leave them in the garage. They work out perfectly--a perfect fit and enough weight that there is no way they will be blown off.
I wouldn't try this if you only have a circular saw. You'd never get a straight enough line for that distance.

I keep my PUP in the garage when not in use so i'd need something semi permanent for travelling and when camping .

Personally, IMO, for that minute a percentage of the whole that the camper may be subjected to rain, I wouldn't worry about it. When you're traveling the wind will keep most out, so all you have left is popped up at the site.
