Like I said before.... be sure to change the oil @ the recommended intervals...... If it were me.... I'd use synthetic oil but check with the manuf.

The paperwork shows three different recommendations for oil... depending on the air temperature.  Two out of three is recommends "regular" oil... the upper operating temp. shows synthetic.  I am tempted to stick with the recommend weights and use synthetic regardless of the air temp.... which after-all may change one day to the next.  I believe the first oil change is at 50hrs on this unit, but I need to double check that and be sure.

Take a look on youtube for the guy/company selling the kit that turns your existing service panel into a power transfer for the generator.  They've invented a sliding plate that in one position blocks the main breaker in the "off" position, and allows a newly installed breaker for the genny to be turned "on" and then the genny powers the box without the possibility of backfeeding the utility company's lines.  Neat set up and cheap.

Glad you found a big generator!  Ultimately, if they have natural gas, or can get a big LP tank, one of the NG or LP gen sets would be ideal.  Spendy, but invaluable.

Probably the Honda 3000 is going to be your quietest large, "camping" type genny.
