OK, Recumbentman bet me I wouldn't, but I am....my first attempt to wagonmaster.

Self-Serve Rally - Camp Comfort July 27th-29 (Fri-Sun...or whenever you would like to arrive and leave)

Location:  (a few miles from Lake Casitas)
11969 North Creek Road,
Ojai. Hwy 33, S.E. on Hermosa Road

Description:
The San Antonio Creek flows through this beautiful, lush park. There are an ample number of mature shade trees throughout. The campground is ideal for group camping and the spacious, newly renovated clubhouse is perfect for parties, reunions, company picnics, weddings, etc. Camp Comfort is approximately 1 mile from downtown Ojai

The campground has full hookups (water, sewer, electric (30/50 amp, cable) and new concrete pads.  There are only 15 sites in the entire campground.  Only two are taken for that weekend as of now (we're in site 12).

More info about the park here:

http://portal.countyofventura.org/portal/page/portal/GSA/parks_department_-_Directory/inland_parks/camp_comfort

Reservations can be made here:

http://www.venturaparks.org/  (change the arrival date to Julky 27th, 2 nite stay and select Camp Comfort as the park...a map with available sites and site lengths will come up)

Cost for two nites/4 people using online reservations was $83.  Dogs are $1 extra/night

The 5th Annual Classic Balloon Festival is a short drive away in Santa Paula.  We went to the evening balloon glow last year and had a lot of fun.

Balloon Festival info here:

Hi Jim, I know it looks like there is going to be just our two families but do you want to make any special plans on Sat for dinner?  Guess we can just plan on a time and join you guys at your site with whatever we decide to make.

Hi Jim, Betty, Jeremy, Ben.
Great little park you discovered and glad we got to share it with you.  Really enjoyed your company and thanks for making my brother and his family welcome also.  We now know which sites are the good ones and know that #13 is not one of them unless you have a short MH that can drive in to the site.

Stopped by the other park that you mentioned and it looked nice as well, don't think the road noise would be a problem after dark.
See you at FF.

John, Leann and TJ,

We were so glad you guys could make it!  It was nice meeting your brother and his family.  Looks like some future campers in the works (when your first trip is described as "the best camping trip ever!" it's off to a good start :)  )

This was our first time at the park and I think we'll be back.....it was a nice relaxing weekend with good company and the kids had fun.  Can't ask for more than that.

Yes those are a few of the pics from there.  Looks much different in the wet winter than warm/hot summer.  It is a quaint little place that offers quiet rest except for the occaisional car during the day.  Facilties are clean and mantained with a big day use area next to the campground.
Would like to return but just not to site #13 since the utilities are are on the wrong side of pad.

John saw the pics on FB, its looks great. 13 maybe unlucky for some but with extra hose and power cord it wouldnt be bad and as far as being close together as a group that wouldnt be so bad, at least you'd know your neighbor.

Ya Mike, I had enough hoses and elec cord for the spot.  Did not hook up sewer till break down time and I just had enough stinky slinky with 2 section put together to barely reach.  Did not like almost tripping over cord and water hose getting in and out of TT but we made it work.
If someone had a short MH, that spot wold be perfect for them, or a MH with long utility connections.
Would put this one on the redo list.
