Well....like any other time I gamble....I lost again. The campsite wasn't bad....very roomy. The CG looked to be about 60% seasonal, very few there during our stay...seasonal sites were kept neat and orderly....transient sites were also somewhat clean......there were no sewer hook ups, but there was gray water hook up at each site......the source of sewage odor that would permiate the air every once in a while could not be found, but wow, was it there. There was a dump station at the top of the hill......the Lake and Beach were nasty dirty.....more dirt than sand and had lots of scum to it, I would'nt wash my feet in it. Pay showers that you had to fight the bugs for room....no hooks to hang your stuff, but there was a 1 square foot shelf. Large dogs running off leash...one being a Pitbull (sorry, not my favorite breed)......there is absolutely no attraction to keep you at the CG. If you had something to do in the area, and was looking for a base camp (meaning you're leaving for the day), this would be fine.....but if you were looking for something to keep you entertained at the CG....not happening. On a range of 1-10, I'd give the CG itself a 6.....things to do in the area, not much more.....but if you do visit the area...Bigelow State Park was a nice spot to visit and picnic. I was told that there were some Antique shops withing a 15-20 minute drive...never did investigate. I guess I'm more accustomed to the resort type CG that has pools, snack bars, and daily activities, so I wasn't too thrilled with this place.

We were there about 7 yrs ago, they didn't even have gray water connections...just told us to dump gray water on ground. Seasonals were well kept, people respectful. As you said wasn't much to do. Didn't think lake was to bad but beach area needed some work. We were there for the fishing.

Thought campground had some potential, heard under new ownership the past few yrs...maybe things will improve
