Can't the P2 just be popped out of it's holder, like it's predecessor the Prodigy, and used in any vehicle simply by purchasing a holder for that other vehicle?

IMO, with the known success of the Tekonsha products, there's no reason to purchase any other brand.  Etrailer.com is your friend, price-wise.

Thanks for the etrailer link Austin.. That was my preferance all along however i was having issues running down another P2 Harness and pocket mount in stock anywhere for a trip we have planned for next week..  e-trailer had a harness kit in stock (couple more dollars than th harness its self) and the pocket mount.  Should be here Tuesday...  Big Smile

I would try to find the mount and wire.

But if I was to buy a second break controler. I would buy the Tekonsha Primus IQ at about the same price point as the hopkins, but with the advance Tekonsha proportional breaking logic.  I think they are about $75 on amazon

The IQ has the same wire harness as the P2, not sure if the clips are inter changable.  http://www.tekonsha.com/content/products.aspx?lvl=2&parentid=1400&catID=1435 &part=0

Hey, you're welcome.  Glad that worked out so well.  Nice when a plan comes together!

Love my Hoppy! Plug and play on the Ford made installation a less than 10 minute project. Adjustment is simple as well, I tow multiple trailers with different needs, multiple axles etc. Not a single complaint, for the money highly recomended. I don't think I could justify spending double or more on a p2 or p3 for the same outcome
