My StarCraft Gemini has an ABS cap on the front and back.   Any recommendation on treatment protectant sealant to protect the ABS from UV, etc…?

Maybe more than you are looking for, but I had left-over Grizzly Grip after doing my roof. So I took off the panels and put 2 coats on them.  This also had the positive effect of giving the front panel some protection from road debris.

For UV protection only, I would think 303 protectant would work pretty well.

My ABS is about 3/16" thick and in good shape, just want to protect from the elements. It now about 10 years old and does not have a shine, would like it to last another 15 years.

I'll add my vote for the 303 protectant. Believe it or not way back when before Fleetwood/Coleman got really paranoid about their ABS roofs and vetoed anything concerning them; covers, coatings, etc. They actually recommended 303 for the ABS parts.

Just so people don't get that confused with the "303 Fabric Protectant"

http://www.sailrite.com/303-UV-Protectant-16oz

But I think that I would sand, primer and paint it.

that 303 looks good, don't see anything about abs.  But if coleman was recommending, I'm sure they did their research?  I will check amazon.

ABS is just a type of "Plastic".

But if coleman was recommending, I'm sure they did their research?

I wouldn't put too much stock in their "recommendation" of the product. Sometimes that just means that the company paid Coleman for advertising. It doesn't always mean that they did any kind of research.

I'm not saying for one minute that it isn't a good product. I'm just saying that, "I wouldn't put too much stock in their "recommendation" of the product."

Spray then pray. It may work.

Most of the problem with panel is not due to UV damage. Crack happened due to road vibration. You can help by checking the fastener regularly for any loose one. They use sheet metal screws so they don't stay on forever.

If the panel is cracked, fix is easy. Just re-enforce the inside with ABS solvent and fiberglass. You can add ribs with ABS plastic.
