I've only eaten about 20 but there's only 9 items that I WILL eat now and only a few I'd try.
There's no way I'd ever eat #21 especially.
Funny that we humans laugh at what goats will eat.

65 for me by a quick count.  Quite a few I would try, several that I don't even know what they are.  So many are just typical everyday things that are unremarkable in any way. (Root beer float? )

I would however, dispute some of the items as "must eat," Hostess Fruit Pie being one.

31.  How about burgoo?  Its a local tradition.  We have burgoo festivals where men stir the stew all night long in huge cast iron pots with paddles as big as boat oars.  Long ago people would bring anything they killed and add to the stew, like deer, rabbitt, squirrel.  I was told they used ox tail.  I'm not sure what kind of meat they use today but the stew is an orangey color and the meat is stringy, it looks bad but it is the best stuff ever.Has anybody heard of burgoo?

I've heard of burgoo.

I wondered about the moon pie and root beer float, too.  I have no idea who came up with this list or how they made the selections.

78 (79 if you count Rocky Mountain Oysters), but I'm a Navy guy so the things I haven't eaten are only because I haven't been dared to...                   ...yet. Smile

New Orleans

Roughly 40. But many of those things are common here (New Orleans area). I've eaten some things that should be on that list that aren't though.

I grew up eating oxtail in red gravy. I've eaten eel but I'll pass. Lassi I'm not looking up, but hoping it has nothing to do with Collie. Nutria is OK. Squirrel is tough but ok in jambalaya. Goat is on the same level. I passed on possum since the provider wouldn't say how it was harvested (I was betting on a bumper which would be ok, but the time frame since harvest is a concern!). Boiled crawfish seems to freak out northerners that come visit here but is delicious.
Worst I've seen anyone eat is armadillo. I passed on that! Those things carry leprosy!

I thought sweet bread was like banana bread or zucchini bread.

I can't remember if sweet breads are thumus glands or pancreas. Needless to say my 57 does not include them.

On edit this brought to mind my most weird food experience.

We spent three days in Japan as guests of a machine manufacturer that wanted to sell us quite a few CNC machines. The first night out we were "treated" to a dinner that was costing $600 a head (and remember this was in the late 1970's. Among the various yucky things of which some were quite good they brought out the main course, Lobster. Which I can eat till the cows come home.
But something wasn't right it was still a greenish color, but the back shell was removed. Just as a was about to say the heck with it and dive in the lobster started moving. That was a little to much for me and my boss and we really insulted the hosts. BUt all went well as we found only the second McDonalds in Tokyo at that time and finally had a "good meal". LOL
