maybe their high base price is their attempt to backpay themselves with the inflated profit expected.

Me thinks they are going to learn the role competition plays when people have limited recreational dollars to spend, but what do I know....

I would think there is a market, but very limited.  I kinda think it would look good behind a honda Element. That may be way they are at such a premium price. But I think it will go the way of the Element.

It would be nice to see them successful, which might encourage more manufactures to tap into different designs and the higher end market.   This might spur some new innovated new designs.  Lets face it the popup industry has not seen much innovation in design of a tent on a box, other than materials, the high wall, and lots of options.

The expected profit on some things are.  Years ago my father wanted a piece of equipment that a company made and looked at buying it.  Told the dealer he wanted to try it out first.  Along with his brother they sat down and basically built one for 1/3 the cost.  Including time they still would have only been @ 40% cost.

Of course it should cost less, you are copying somebody else's work.

I ran across the Cricket about 5 years on the Net. At that time, I don't think they were in production...only promises that they would be in the future.

Glad to see they are actually being sold.
They are a wonderful, unique idea.

Hopefully similar campers will be offered at a much lower cost.
