Is that a nice campground?  I am planning a trip to that area for this summer and could use some good info.

No plans related to camping unless I decide to do some work on the PUP.  Grin

Funny how things change. When we tented, we'd frequently go on big holiday weekends. With the PUP, we tend to go on long trips during the summer and avoid the chaos on big weekends.

Camping on big holidays is generally not a good idea hereabouts (western Oregon).  The great USFS campgrounds in the Cascades aren't open yet.  All others are jammed, often with folks who don't camp much and haven't seemed to have learned common sense campground etiquette.  Also, often as not on Memorial Day, it rains, at least in western Oregon.  Ew.  Best time for peaceful camping in the Cascades is right after Labor Day, if you can find any open cgs.  It seems they're being closed up sooner and sooner each year.  Phooey.

As for the beautiful state parks along the coast, fuhgeddabowdit.  Chock full from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and still hard to get into even after that.  It's all them dang furriners from down south in Shake 'n' Bake land.  Wink  Maybe if we had a sales tax . . .

I get around the holiday traffic by taking off a day early and a day later and making a 5 day weekend out of it. No traffic to speak of, and I get an extra long weekend...

+1 for not camping on major holidays for all the reasons mentioned. We will be joining Wavery (and many other SCampers) at the beach the following weekend Approve

DW has "Yard Work" written on the calendar.
I've heard of that campground before.  It looks like I'll be in the "Bark Mulch" loop.   Disapprove

But that's ok, I'll be avoiding the 83 gazillion other people all trying to pack 6 months' worth of driving, partying and noise into one weekend.
