2012 Camp9ing trips

If you have any trips planned for 2012 and you don't mind if others join you, post them here.

My big trip of the year is to Blackwoods campground in Acadia NP, Maine.  I plan on going for 2 weeks July 28th is the beginning of my vacation.  I also plan to go to Washington DC, camping at Greenbelt NP, April 10th week.  It is the week after Easter.

Smokys (GSMNP) for a few weeks in late April. Miscellaneous midwest hike/bike trips during summer. Pennsylvania Laurel Highlands (haven't planned details) for a couple weeks in fall for bike/hike.

We're still trying to figure out where we want to go with the kids...
Usually, we go to Gettysburg every year an also do one big trip-may be Lake Geo or Lake Placid, Duck, NC is an option, Niagara Falls/Toronto-but I'm thinking the other ones.

and a few local ones.
We already have planned to go somewhere near Kings Dominion as the kids are involved in Music In The Parks and they'll be near Arlington, VA to compete this spring.

Still need to plan something for spring and summer because I forgot how early I need to book trips. When I tried, I couldn't get sites at any of my favorite places. But I did book a couple fall trips if anyone wants to join in.

Tyler and I will be at Greenbelt in march with the scouts.  Nice campground. 
Not sure what we are doing other times yet.

Scott I will be at Greenbelt the week of April 8th.  Are you going to a scouting program put on my the park service, or your troop is going on its own?  Last year at Easter the park service had a scouting program going on.

Cozy Acres Campground Powhatan, Virginia April 27-29 VA campers spring rally
That's all that we have hard plans for so far!

Well, we've narrowed down 'areas'...

Mid-May-Near Kings Dominion, VA for 4 days... if anyone has any suggestions, that'd be great!  We don't mind roughing-it-no kids!

Later-May-possibly somewhere near Tohickon State Park, PA

June-camping with (gulp!) 3 13 yr old girls?!? Ok, possibly Otter Lake since they have the indoor pool or Spring Gulch (not roughing it... darn!)
June (again)-Colonial Woods or somewhere near Quakertown-they do this Game of Life and we had a blast doing it last year-takes up the whole campground!  fun times!

July (Big Trip w kids)- Lake George... Right now, deciding btwn 2 campgrounds, but love suggestions!  (Needs:  pool-not lake swimming (yes, picky kids), fishing area (Lake or river is fine),  I would like tubing because... well, because I'm planning it ;)  )

Aug-somewhere by the beach-prob near Point Pleasant, NJ-can be roughing it...

Sept-tbd...

And some mini-wkend ones. DH wants to dry dock at some point.  I hope he'll have fun cause I won't be there...

I have no real plans. want to do Maine in the summer for two weeks when this project is over.

I will have Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon off most weeks, so I can camp quite a bit if the funds hold out. 

need new tires for the Bantam...3 of the 4 are circa 1999...

Feb. 19-24 Manatee Springs State Park - Chiefland, FL (can't wait; swimming with the manatees!)
Apr. 1-6 Henderson State Park - Destin, FL (spring break at the beach!)
Apr. 18-22 Wanee Music Festival - Live Oak, FL (on bucket list!)
July 1-8 Vogel State Park - Blairsville, GA (great place to get away from the heat)

I need to make Memorial Day and Labor Day reservations for somewhere.  So far, not so bad!!  ;)

Feb. 19-24 Manatee Springs State Park - Chiefland, FL (can't wait; swimming with the manatees!)

I would love to be on that trip with you.  I love Manatees!!!

I'm thrilled about going.  I love them too but have never seen one in person.  We're keeping our fingers crossed that the weather gets a little cooler.  They come to the springs in the winter b/c the water stays at 72 degrees F.  We've seen a warm winter....I hope they don't stay in the ocean!!

I have seen them at Blue Springs, but I have not been in the water with them.  I hope you have a great trip and get to see them.  Take pictures if you can.
