We would like to check out the Duck Mountains - there appears to be 3-4 campgrounds.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to which campground is the nicest.   Any extra ammenities that would keep my family entertained during those times that I can't  convince them to come out fishing would be a plus. (playground, beach, etc)  An added bonus would be a campground that would allow me to pull my boat up on shore and leave it there as I have no way to move it around once I take it off the roof of the tent trailer.

thanks in advance for any info.

Camping somewhere north of you

Are you talking about the one in Manitoba, northwest of Dauphin? I've camped at Childs Lake a few times. Excellent campground. The water is crystal clear, and apparently scuba divers like going there for that reason. The last time I was there I had a canoe with me, and I paddled across the lake to the lodge for breakfast, and then paddled back. I had the lake to myself that morning, except for the loons. I didn't have any problems leaving the canoe at the boat launch area, although I did take the paddles and life jackets with me.

If you do decide to go there, I recommend taking Hwy 83 through Russell and Roblin and coming in through the west side of the park via PR367, especially if you're going to Childs Lake. There's a lot less gravel going that route, even though it's quite a bit longer, but the scenery is a lot nicer.
