So I am about 17 finds into this new addictive hobby and I haven't really found anything all that amazing. But that is ok I am really more interested in TB's and Geocoins, oh and the hunt is really what it is all about. However, I am always interested in hearing about great finds whether it is found during the hunt or in the cache. Also, any great stories from your hunts are always fun to read.

Nothing too amazing for me so far but I have found some really well thought out hides. Such as a small container hidden in a pine cone and a pvc pipe set up to look like sewer acces.

I have been geocaching since 2007 and have just over 550 finds. Most are pretty uneventful. However, some have been a lot of fun or had interesting containers or very clever hides. I don't really pay much attention to the swag unless it is a geocoin (rare to find) or an interesting travel bug.

If you are interested in geocoins, you should come check out Geocoinfest US 2011 at www.GeocoinfestUS2011.com. There will be THOUSANDS of coins there! It is in Rock Hill, SC. There will be geocaching and geocoin vendors, prizes, seminars and other fun stuff. There will also be a geocoin poker tournament where the winner can walk away with over 100 unactivated geocoins!

I've seen the sewer pipe before - it is a really good one, as it looks so 'natural' in an urban setting.

This was one of my favorites:

After finding a few more caches in my area over the past couple of days, I have to update my list. My favorite so far was a huge storage tupperware with three smaller containers inside for different things such as TB's, GC's, log book, and then the large area for swag. In this container I found a LED bobber for fishing that I have actually thought about buying the last few times I have seen them in the store. Then on a very different cache found a flashlight, that is now just for caching.

New site just opened.  Free- no subscriptions.  No caches yet, either, but we'll see if it takes off.

Best geocache swag found was a first-to-find prize of an iPod Shuffle and iTunes gift card at a cache in Southern Indiana along the Ohio river.

One of the most deceptive caches I have found was an inverted five gallon bucket very artfully disguised as a tree stump in plain sight in the woods.

Wow!  I'm surprised that in seven months there are now hundreds of OpenCaching caches listed in my own neighborhood.

Folks are apparently flocking away from , igeocaching.com's fees, and general control of the hobby!

Best swag we found so far were some Burger King NIB Jurrassic Park watches, (the kind they give with kids meals).  One geocacher had left over a dozen of them, and I was amazed that successive geocachers had only taken one apiece, (it restored my faith in humanity for that moment)!

My best swag find was a key fob that worked on my daughters car! We bought the car used and it didn't have one.
