I dislike WalMaaaaaaaaaaaaa....

We bought ours here http://www.rvawningmats.com/ about 7 years ago. It's still going strong, it is easy to clean, helps keep the dirt outside of the treller and allows rain/water to run right through. Even after a wet/wild weekend, it is light and easy to roll up and store!

+1.  Our mat is 5 years old.  I hose it off at the end of each season or between trips if it gets particularly nasty.  Once it is clean it looks like new.  I also bought the storage bag from rvawningmats.com.  The zipper failed after the first use but I never zipper it anyway, so no problem there.

RE: quad chair bags - after you quad chair dies and you throw it in the fire, save the bag.  I've used them to hold pie irons, Equalizer bars, marshmallow roasting forks, etc.  They are awesome.

I need a new awning mat.  Ours is doing well but I'd like to run it the length of the trailer so the outdoor kitchen gets mattage.

Me too, but a lack of proper planning and limited choice where we used to live left me with no other option before our big trip this summer. The one we got looks just like bud111256's and after more than 3 weeks of use, I have to say I am pleased with it.

It makes a big difference in keeping the camper clean and is easy to clean and store. We will see how durable it turns out to be, but even if it "Does a Wally" (falls apart)  Wink, I am sold on the concept and would try another from EBAY, or CW.

We have one from  a couple years ago from WalMart.

Hey Bud.  Nice hold-downs for awning poles.  I made some similar to yours by placing pvc pipe into very large cans, then pouring concrete around pvc pipe.  Now I can place awning pole into pvc pipe and keep awning in place.  Yours look nicer. Did you use concrete? or something else?  Thanks. Arizona

Mattage.  Good word.  Can I use that for Scrabble?

Our Wally World 9 x 12 is decent.  No complaints.

I purchased the walmart mat and used it all summer. It withstood all the weathers except snow... the only problem i found was storing it , you can't really fold it because of the crease it leaves so rolling it up is the only proper way. If you can find a sack great otherwise roll it tie it and store it. But for the money you can't go wrong.

We always carry 2, 9x12 mats. That way, if we need a larger covered patio area, we can have one.

Don't know what he did but we used plastic kiddy sand buckets, put our pipes in and poured the concrete around them, securing the pipes with string until the concrete set up. Then we just cut the buckets of and voila'.

I use one for tent camping, its 9' x 9' and fits inside our tent when we tent camp (we also popup camp and I backpack and bicycle camp). My brother picked up a RV awning mat back at Quartzite, AZ a couple of years ago but no name or label on the bag.

Mom got us a 9x12 mat from wal-mart this past Christmas. It came with carry straps but I figured the best storage location would be in the Bath/Shower. Seems to stand up in there good and any excess dirt or water drains off. Of course I would hose it off with the outdoor shower if it's too muddy as they dry quickly. Seen some pics of guys that use a 4" or 6" PVC tube on the back bumper to store these as well. We have a 6" tube on the back bumper now but it houses the stinkey slinkey.

Good idea about storing it in the shower.

I have a 6x9 piece of outdoor carpet from Home Depot that looks like astroturf. Got it for next to nothing. Those big blue Ikea shopping bags work great for storage.

I bought my mat at Target 5 years ago.  It is great, I sweep it off before I roll it up and store it in the garage.  At the end of each season I do hose it down.

Sorry- I can't speak to Walmart mats. I purchased a nice 9 x 18 including the  storage bag from RV Mats (Alberta, Canada) www.rvmats.ca  and it seems to be a quality product.
