I voted "Not Offended, Don't Care".

Almost every group/club has a logo or slogan. I think its kinda clever myself. Jeep has decals that say, "Its A Jeep Thing-You Wouldn't Understand" does that mean if your not a Jeep owner, your brain can't comprehend whats going on

Its funny how correct, some want us to be! I say go with it, if someone doesn't agree,  "They must not be towing an ALINER".

PS: I'm a canvas guy, well more like a "urethane-coated polyester rip-stop" kinda guy!

Offended?  No.  It's a heck of a lot better than a picture of Calvin peeing on a PUP and/or a tent.  Now that would be, well, annoying more than anything.

Coming from a family that has regularly been in the big "Ford -vs- Chevy debate (my dad and brother...when he was alive) I am quite used to the silliness that goes along with these kinds of discussions.

I tend to find them amusing....especially since I've had both Ford's and Chevy's and have been equally satisfied with them both. I used to ask for popcorn when they'd get into these discussions Cheesy

In truth....I buy the model I like when I look to purchase a new vehicle.

The way I see it -- people should choose the camper they feel fits them best regardless of whether or not it has canvas.  Why should anyone have to justify their choices to someone else?  ...that's just dumb...

So- I chose that I am not offended and I don't care. ....because I don't.

My camper is also vintage and "old," although she is in good shape.  When I pull into a campground, I'm sure people have their opinions about that too. ....and I still don't care.  If you don't like my old camper, I will simply smile and say "since you aren't sleeping in it -- you don't have to worry about it." ...and that's that.

For anyone that IS offended by this motto -- I feel bad for you, because life is just too short to worry about the judgements of others.....just enjoy your camper and your time outdoors and don't waste energy worrying about what the person 2 sites down thinks.

Not offended what so ever.  I think the Aliners are cool campers, but they are way too small for our needs.  When we open our 12 box, it expands to over 25.  That gives us the room we need/desire.  Everyone has different requirements or needs in the type of camper they select.

Boy , a little late to the game here due to a thread bump it seems. I checked and the aliner club did end up going with that motto.

I'm not offended as a PUP owner, but if I were an aliner owner I would think it was stupid, or at least lame. Usually when you have a motto you are trying to highlight something positive about your hobby...I guess if this is what it is, well...

It would be a bit like a motto for a popup club that says "friends don't let friends camp on the ground."

But hey, if it works for ya and reflects the type of club you are, so be it.

You have a good point. My daughter camps with us sometimes and she PREFERS to sleep in her tent. Some people like sleeping on the ground and there isn't a darn thing wrong with it. Saying, "friends don't let friends camp on the ground" could be insulting to some.

It's sorta like some teenagers...... some teenagers feel inadequate and the only way some know how to deal with their feeling of inadequacy is to put others down. In doing so, they merely bring themselves down. Sorta tells the story about whoever sanctioned the new Aliner Owner's Club motto  Wink.
