  PopUp Cyan

I'm curious if there are any other ham radio operators out there in PUP land. . .

If so, will you be taking your PUP to field day on 6/26.

KA9DDN and KA9PZG at this campsite....   Tongue

Unfortunately, my part-time after-retirement job has me working virtually every weekend and holiday.

Interesting to see this posted up here.
I have recently been out my radio gear, and have been studying up to work towards a tech license and likely level 2. I have an old Ranger 10 meter, and was wondering what would be a nice update for mobile that I wouldn't break the bank, but also wouldn't replace next year.

I need to get back in touch with my old radio buddies...

Great thread... We'll be camping near Niagara Falls that weekend, but I plan to set up my "Go Box" and work a little 2 meter, hopefully into Toronto. I've had many good intentions on "playing radio" whilst camping, but camping always seems to get in the way.  It might help if I had some camping friends who also like radios...

I had my novice license about 100 years ago, but couldn't get my code speed high enough to get my general license.

Although I got my General and somehow passed the code, its now a no-code license.  Go grab a study guide and take the test!

Go take your test.  Since code isn't required anymore.  Big Smile

I play with my Yeasu 7900 2m/70cm that I normally keep in my truck.  I want a mobile HF so bad I can't stand it.  But, money is an issue there and my 30 year old Kenwood HF rig at home is A/C only and has tubes.  Not taking it on the road.  My buddy I got my pup from was also my elmer.  So, he threw in antenna mounts when I got the pup.

NNN0CYK was my military MARS c/s.  I spent 14 yrs as a Morse intercept op.  No Morse for FCC license?  What fun is THAT?

I had a wonderful rig I got off a ship when it was decommissioning.  Carried it around for years.  Lacked only an antenna.  Eventually sold it to an ole ham op in TN through eBay.
