This was my first major mod on the Beatle Cruiser. It turned out really good and sounds even better. i'll have to convince the boss(aka "the Wife") that we need speakers on the out side of the pup as well. Enjoy!!

Looks very nice!  My DH wants to do the same in our PUP.  What did you do for an antenna?

Thanks!

I bought a small power antenna from Fryes Electronics. It has a 6 foot cord if needed. The antenna connects to the radio and the 12v power lead. I have it mounted (with velcro) behind the radio in the open area you see in the pictures. Reception is great.

Nice job, my wife wasn't thrilled when I did ours but admits now its way better than a boom box on the dinette. Do you have it hooked up so it keeps it preset buttons?

No presets yet I still need to add a Batt. But it's easy enough to find the stations with the search feature. And if there are no stations to be found I just plug in the ipod in the front USB.
Climb on the bunk and hit the remote to change songs and volume

Very nice install!!  I'll have to start trying to convince the DW that we need this.

Good job.  Nice that the unit you chose looks to have an auxilary plug for an IPOD.  I have 8,000 songs on my IPOD.  Beats carrying a batch of CD's.

It may be too late for you to take advantage of this idea. But I found a 12V stereo that also doubled as a DVD player.  I simply ran the video out cable out of an opening and not only can I listen to the radio, or play a CD, I can also watch a movie!
