but i'll have a coach with me since i've never towed...

but im excited anyway....may do a local trip this weekend just to test her out :)  mods planned are floors, painting cabinets, countertops, curtains and slipcovers... :)

Congrats on the purchase.  Exciting times - enjoy every moment of it.  A glass of champagne at the table and dreams of where you'll go in it when you first get it set up are just magic.  Bring a pen and paper so you don't forget all those places.

Drewup - you might want to dry run in your driveway before taking it out - then you will know what does (or not) work and well as make a list of the things you need to do or pack in it.

We got our first PUP a little over a month ago.  I too had never towed before, when do you take it on your maiden voyage - bring aspirin - I had such a horrible tension headache by the time we got to the CG because I was so tense the entire drive!  But, by the time we got set up and I popped the first beer....all was good!

Congrats, Drewup! I'm sure you will have a great time with it.

We have a '98 Jayco Eagle 10 UD. Yours is a couple of feet longer, and nicer inside (more deluxe model). We have the dinette across one end, and u-shaped seating across the other, so it is a little different than yours.

We've been very happy with our PUP. It has done well. We've towed about 4,000 miles over the last 3 seasons, camping 14 different times, if I'm counting correctly. The only trouble has been little things, and not many of those. The right hub heated up starting out on a Memorial Day trip this year. That was my fault. I had adjusted the brakes too tight. Easy fix. In June of this year, I lost our left brake and signal light on the PUP. That was a wiring harness connection gone bad. Easy fix. The frig. quit working on gas on that same trip, so I pulled out the burner and cleaned it. Easy fix. We've had no major problems.

Hope it goes well for you!

Ha! I like the idea of champagne at the dining table the first night. We'll have to incorporate that when we take our maiden voyage. I'm a little worried about the need for aspirin though. I do understand how that can be after driving ours home that first day.

Congratulations! We're in the same boat, having just picked up our baby this past Saturday. Looking so forward to having some family fun and being able to share this experience with those of like mind definitely makes the ride more exciting!

Well first congrats on the NTU PUP.

Obviously you got it home.  How was backing it in the drive? Dead

Was there a lot of left go left no the other left???

Yes I do remember the first time as if it were just yesterday Big Smile I am still not a pro but I no longer worry about the challenge.  Sometimes I even get it right the first time Wink

thanks all...yes it is home...man it is bigger than i thought...its a big one...  well i brought it down the driveway frontways and then my friend had to monkey it into position...turns out i have a sharp incline from the drive into the garage and the PUP was bottoming out on the back bumper...so it was tricky...my driveway is a good 75 yards of twisty turny steep hell.  ha!.  this weekend i may just try to take it up and back a few times because in the future i will neet to learn how to back it in...will try to set it up maybe by friday night so we can goof around with it a bit this weekend.  will post pix after i get it up :)

Congrats on the new PUP !!!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of camping. :)

We picked up our PUP a couple of weeks ago. My husband is a truck driver, so he is gone alot.............. and he calls alot. Almost every time he would call, he would ask me if I was "camping," with a laugh. The PUP is set up, and has been since we got it home. The first thing our 7-year-old asked, is " can I sleep in it tonight?" LOL

Hopefully I will shake this sick, and will get her loaded up. I just had a bunch of stuff come in, and will get more (have to have new sleeping bags with a new camper)............. so it is time to organize, and put her all together.

With luck (meaning Rick can get the time off), we will be celebrating Thanksgiving, in our PUP !!!!

So, enjoy. They are lots of fun.................. even in the driveway. :o)
