Yes, anyone should be able to camp in what ever site that their equipment can fit into & they are willing to pay for. We camped in electric "trailer" sites when we tent camped. First time it was because the non-electric sites were also non-pet sites, so I had to pay extra for electric that I didn't even use, and the extra pet charge. Then it was mainly because the tent only sites were usually walk in & we didn't want to carry everything in. That gave us the opportunity to start carrying fans, ceramic heaters, converter for the 12V cooler, electric lights, etc. One campground we did stay in an electric site, that was actually tent only. As for someone deserving a site more everyone has the same opportunity to reserve or arrive early to get the site they most want/need.

Sure,
Folks who steal time to camp, may need to pack the laptop to keep in touch once and a while with the office, or may just want to watch an evening movie.
My Fleetwood Tacoma can fit into a 25 foot site if I have to, but I don't hesitate to reserve a 70 footer if available. Kinda the same thing.

As a former TENTER, I always used electric sites, but I also shared or was willing to share the site with at least one other tenter, or even a pup. It wasnt like I could use all the space with a 10 by 13 tent, and hell....made some friends that way.

Heck yeah..why not? Frankly, haven't met a prejudice PUP owner before (or any kind of camper) - campers are campers and money is money!
We were tenters for many years and always paid for electrical sites. We like our air mattress, our coffee maker, radio and string lights. Now as PUP owners, we still have all that stuff and just tow our tent on wheels.

same as everyone else, sure
I did it for years, even staying on sites with full hook ups because my inlaws were next door in their 5th wheel. We always stayed close because we would set up a portable firepit right in the middle, and share cooking duties between us and them. We had a comparable outdoor kitchen to their fully enclosed kitchen inside their camper, and ours had a better view. We did that for years, now we use the full hookups when we camp with them running our grey water straight into the sewer connection.

A lot of the time non-electric site are either not available or in the crappy part of the grounds. What gets me as a backpack tenter is when I am required to pay $3 to $10 for hook-ups I'll never use.
Though I do find it fun to set up between two $500,000+ RV's and be looked down the nose at. I sit there happy in the knowledge knowing my little tent has been to the top of mountains, the backwoods Canada, and the top of El Capatain looking down at the $500,000 Rv's. I also sit knowing my retirement is secure and I am not paying $10,000 a night in equiptment costs.

To each his own, but 5th wheels, RV's etc aint campin to me. A PUP with a porta pottie is just what the Dr. ordered. I go camping to get away from the decadent incumberances of life. I don't want to sleep on the ground anymore, but if I want a 2-3 room suite, I go to Vegas. Last month in Maysville KY, there was no digital TV signal, and I didn't miss it ONE BIT!
