Yep! I've got two SOT's that I carry and use frequently. One for me and the other for whoever is lucky enough to come along or I encounter while camping. I've introduced a few folks to the enjoyment to be had.

Not bringing the Kayak is like not bringing the Hand Crank for the PU. It's a must have while camping anywhere remotely  close to water of some kind. My wife says I would put my Kayak in the bath tub if it would fit. But yeah love fishing, love kayaking, love camping, combine the 3 = happy me!

Yes!  Especially on the coast.  Heck, thats 1/3 the reason we bought a PUP!  The other 1/3's are mountain biking/races and so the dogs could have a place to hang besides in a tent!  Besides, its the dogs PUP, we just hold the title.  Wink

Lots of incredible places down here to camp- theres even a place in the middle keys thats literally on the beach with full electric and water!

My husband float tubes...he would love to kayak one day....Same reason here to get the pop-up...is so the dogs and I have a place to "hang" and I have a bathroom, while he is out fishing....Now we are looking to upgrade to an HTT, can you put one of those side holders on that for a Kayak...like the ones that attach to vans...

I miss my Kayak, since I had 3 shoulder surgeries I can't paddle anymore, the last trip I rolled and popped shoulder out of joint 3 times in one trip. Good thing I had a Wilderness EMT with me. After that I sold my Dancer. Had to sell my bow also. Can't stand the repeated reps of shooting or paddlering

I base most of our camping trips around water, mostly state parks and usually strap 2 12' yaks on top
of the pup,  It's great,  DW plays house at the pup, and DD and I go fishing for the afternoon, last
summer I hooked a 5lb bass and had it tow me around for awhile before I  boated it, nothing like it
I can sit in my yak for hours casting away and sneaking up on some awesome wild life at the same time
Cheers

I caught a 30lb + shark a few weeks ago just outside the breakers at Huntington Beach State Park in SC. in my kayak. Made me rethink body surfing down there.

Over the summer, DH bought a 12' Old Town Vapor.  I gave my blessing for the purchase (which he got a good deal on), but I was pretty skeptical about how much use everyone would get out of it.  I was wrong; we all love it.  We've always preferred to camp at the DE shore (CHSP and DSSP); we use the kayak in the ocean and bay.  DH fishes out of it and drops a crab pot; one DS loves it for photography opportunities, the other is interested in fishing and checking the crab pot.  Me, I just like to paddle out and sit; just sit still and take everything in - also, I'm a fanatical birdwatcher, and it's given me close-up opportunities to observe osprey, pelicans, herons, and egrets that I otherwise wouldn't have.  We carry it on top of our Durango (bikes go on top of the PUP); the boys have started asking if a second kayak could be a Christmas present so that two people could go out at once (not sure if finances will permit purchase of a second kayak and carrier though it would be nice).

I absolutely love, love, LOVE it  Big Smile!

Yes! I will be bringing my kayak along on our camping trips. I have an Ocean Kayak Prowler 13 Angler and have only used a handful of times since I bought it two years ago. A couple months after getting it I ruptured a disc in my lower back, so I was sidelined for far too long! Thankfully I also have an aluminum fishing boat, so I was able to fish throughout my rehab. I almost sold the kayak, but decided at the last minute to hang on to it. Now that we have a PUP, i'm glad i kept it. I normally target redfish and trout with artificials over on the Gulf Coast of Florida.

I have a 10ft. Hobie that I use for kayak-fishing, but have yet to do it while camping.  I primarily fish around my local ponds/lakes.  I just recently purchased a PUP and I might consider bringing the yak with me.  It depends on where we end up camping.

DH has and OLD Town Dirigo tandem that he fishes from. Its very stable. Some of the yaks designed for fishing are stable enough to stand up in. Wayne loves his. He's hoping to catch a really big striped bass on of the days and play "Old Man and the Sea".

My kayak is a Tribute 120, designed for women. Its only 24" wide and really "tippy" compared to Wayne's. I just bought it and haven't had a chance to try it in the ocean yet. Cool Cool.
