Hola! We just got our camper back from some repairs for damage from a blown tire.  Even before this, we were having trouble with our Barker electric roof lift.  When raising the roof it surges then stops lifting with a bang.  Going down is no problem . . . we have removed the unit, disassembled it, lubricated everything and reinstalled and still . . . bang!  It does this even when using the manual override (and man, do I hate that!  80 cranks to get that dang thing up).  The bummer is that the roof will not go up all the way, so until we get this fixed, no Christmas fishing vacation for familia Jefiner.  I'd appreciate any thoughts y'all might have!

Have a great holiday season!

Have you checked the cables to be sure they are not catching on something or hanging up?

Yes, we have.  It seems to be a problem internal to the drive unit, but we can't figure it out.  We adjusted the cables once, and it didn't seem to make any difference.

I am sure this is obvious, but did you check the owners manual, sometimes they have trouble shooting info? Next, call a service place, ask for a mechanic, explain the problem and see if he has fixed that problem and what needed repair.

Your SIG indicates you have an '07 Fleetwood so presumably you're aware Fleetwood issued a recall for it's power lift system? Question  Go here and search for recall 07V464000 for more info.  Although your E2 isn't on this list I'd be suspicious that this recall still may apply because the lift motor that is the subject of this recall is a Barker, and even though you may be beyond your first year of warranty coverage on the trailer itself this recall may be covered anyway.  That being the case there's little reason to try to fix this yourself ... make it your dealer's problem.  Wink
