Beautiful pitures.  The picture of the Bass is very impressive, either you were under water or it was taken through glass.  The picture is so good you it does not look like there is anything between the fish and the camera.

When we camp, there are four things we do: enjoy God, enjoy each other, take photos of things on the ground (mushrooms, bugs...) and geocache which gets us everywhere we would never of thought of ourselves.<>< Canada TallTales PopUp Bronze 27 Fleetwood Niagara[popgreen] 1994 Coachmen CO23[van-r] 22 Kia Sedona[pr-ON] GeoCachers: Crosier & MuddyFingers

Just love the pictures.  I like to take pictures too and make them into a musical show to watch on TV.22 KZ Sportsmen 255qss1999 F-15                 Gamble Rogers

While I have loved camping and traveling since I was a kid, my current trips are all about photography.  It is the determining element for where I go, how long I stay in each place and how I organize my day.  Nature and wildlife photographers understand the need to be up well before dawn so they can be in the spot necessary to get the shot they want.  I am usually coming back to camp about the time most others are just getting out and about.  I can have a late breakfast, relax a while (sometimes nap a bit) and then begin my scouting and planning for the next day's shots.  I have a late afternoon snack and then go out to do my evening shots.  In summer sunset is late and I often don't get back to camp until after 10 pm.  I have a late supper, enjoy a cigar and some scotch, then get to bed and start over the next day.In the film days I'd usually shoot five or six 36-exposure rolls per day.  Now, in the digital age, I fill memory cards at an even faster rate.  Better to shoot and then delete than to miss the possibility of a killer shot.1998 Explorer Sport and 27 Fleetwood Yuma

Ditto, except for the cigar and scotch. Great pix. Love to see what others have taken. I will also get up early and take some shots. I really enjoy the quiet of early morning and evening. I get animal shots when I can, but prefer the more obscure clouds and the occasionaly sunrise or sunset. I want a better camera and proper accessories to take some better night pics. We did get some good ones of the lunar eclispse we had last winter tho.

I had my DSLR with me for my last trip to Ives Run.  I got some nice pictures from the PA Grand Canyon.  I'll get some online once I get them on the computer.

Taking pictures is also a hobby of mine. Still learning how to use my DSLR. I wanted to take it up years ago just couldnt afford it. Digital has changed that.

Just like my signature says, I shoot things with a Canon.  In fact, I'm on the Highway to "L"  Big Smile

Well, I just moved up from a Fuji Finepix SLR-like camera with which I have been very frustrated.  I just bought a (second-hand) Nikon D70 and a handful of lenses including the revered 300 mm f4.  I will be shooting a lot more on our camping trips this year.

Last year there was a pair of bald eagles nesting in a tree on the top of the hill above our site.  I just couldn't get a really good picture of them with the Fuji.

I guess my biggest concern is keeping the camera secured at the campsite...  locked in the car would be best, but we usually don't lock the car except at night -- maybe we'll have to change our habits.

Oh, and it's Scotch and a cigar for me, too.

I have a couple of camera bags that I keep stuff in and then a big Rubbermaid tote for stuff I need sometimes but don't carry all of the time.  The tote sits in among the other totes so it doesn't stand out -- camoflage so to speak.  I keep a blanket tossed over the camera bags and tripods so the wandering eyes of passersby don't notice anything.  And yes, the car is always locked except for when I'm actually getting in or out of it.  (Last year I wore out the remote opener and had to get a new one from Ford.)  Sometimes it's a pain but consider the alternative of losing expensive equipment.  The sad truth is that while most people are nice there are enough thieves out there to require preventative measures.
