Just found this site, what a topic...after enjoying some warm chocolate bananas off the campfire and a few visits from Capt. Morgan with friends, can't really recall if the Jayco was properly leveled or not that night.... I do know that the kids did not wake up that night, luckily for us..

I cannot believe this thread has been running for 5 years now. Shocked  I've been gone while and I couldn't believe it when I saw this thread pop up in the recent post list.

I guess the more things change the more they really do stay the same. Grin

warm chocolate bananas....yea that doesn't sound right does it?  Now that I think of it I think the other couple that made these called them banana boats.  They took a whole banana and cut just about a fourth of the outside peel and pulled it back, carefull to not remove it the whole way.  They then took the knife and cut a small wedge out of the banana kind of to make a channel in the banana.  after removing this wedge they placed small chocolate morsels and small mini marshmallows into the whole length of the wedge.  Then they placed the cut out banana back in to cover the chocolate and marshmallows and then placed the peel back over.  They then wrapped the whole concoction in aluminum foil and placed the whole thing on a grate above the fire.  It didn't take long to cook just long enough to melt everything and get the banana warm.  Man I wished I had some vanilla ice cream to go with it.

I didn't think things like this existed on sites like this.  I am happy to read that I am not the only one that has such interests while camping.  We have offically camped two nights in our Pup so far.  We leave tomorrow for a two night Fathers Day camping trip.  The DW is only staying one night, but the soon to be 6-years-old twin girls and I are staying two nights.  I am so glad I read this thread.  Now I have some options to present, if the DW shoots down my suggestions for a "free" father's day gift.  "Free" meaning I can have it my way without much regard for her enjoyment durning the event.  "Free" usually means that we make up for it with a more mutually satisfing event later.  So, I am going to have to make sure stabilizers are in a good position to help my cause.  Btw, about 6 years and 9 months ago, I was given a "free" peice of candy on Halloween night, by my wife.  I am reminded about how much that "free" piece of candy costs me everyday, in food, clothes, and school.  However, I love them, and I certainly wouldn't change it for the world.

We have "christened" the Pup, the first night we camped in the backyard.  DW got home from a social event, and came out to see us.  We had planned to move the kids inside the house to there beds becasue I had to leave for work at 5am, and she didn't want to stay in the Pup all night.  We went back out to the Pup to bring in sippy cuos etc. and I made my move.  The crazy paranoid DW was worried, someone could slip in the house an snatch the kids as they slept in there beds.  She was not worried at all that that someone would have to pass by us in the Pup, doing our thing, to get into our house.  Me, being the problem solver, I ran in the house, turned on the alarm, and locked the door on the way out.  She proclaimed that we needed to be quick about it.  I solved that problem as well.  The funny thing, I never paid any attention to see if it rocked or not.

So I am wondering why YOU get the freebie but she doesn't? How is a mutually satisfing event later even compare?

With DH's out 'fishing' the morning after, ya think the park rangers are just prowling patrolling the grounds for safety sake?

Guess I had better throw in my suggestion. The front rack on a 4-wheeler makes a great seat for the DW thats just the right height and most trails we go down others won't or don't know about especially at night. Course its harder with kids but thats half the reason I'm putting an awning on BOTH sides of the camper. Which ever side doesn't have other campers near by is the side the wheeler gets parked.
